Dear Hanover County Voters,
One of our most precious rights as a citizen of our Commonwealth & Our Country is our fundamental right to vote and those votes when duly counted in totality have appropriate consequences. The Integrity of our Elections and Votes is seriously compromised when there is evidence of any improprieties or even the appearance of any improprieties. The breach of this fundamental right puts our Commonwealth & Nation in great peril. It is a time where action is needed to make sure our elections are totally legal, fair, and honest. The only way this can happen is if we actively get engaged to ensure the absolute Integrity of our Votes & Election processes. To do this we need everyone to become involved by volunteering to work one of 3 needed positions on Election Day: Officer of Elections; Poll Watcher; or Precinct Volunteer outside of the Poll Location.
The Officer of Election position is a paid hourly position under the jurisdiction of the Hanover County Electoral Board. Technically the officers work for the Registrar’s Office. An application will need to be filled out and a background check will be done on each applicant. The Officers will assist in certifying the number of votes cast at the precinct, will attend all training, and will demonstrate voting equipment. The Officers will issue ballots and set up the opening and closing of polls as well as learn all of the rules involving the electronic poll book. This position allows the Officer to view the election from the inside and hopefully help prevent fraud. The link to apply for this critical position is as follows:
The second very important position is that of Poll Watcher. Poll Watchers are authorized by a political party or candidate to work inside the polling place on election day. Poll Watchers shall observe the opening and closing of elections. Poll Watchers may observe and mark off their party voting lists as voters call out their names to be checked into the poll book. They can then report back to a party worker outside of the precinct to call voters that haven’t yet voted. The only qualifications necessary are to be a registered voter in the state of Virginia and to have a signed authorization form from the party chair or a candidate. This position can both help the Republican Party and can keep an eye out for any misconduct in the polling place. It is a very important volunteer position. We are presently working with Republican Party of Virginia to provide online training session/video but please see the below link for more present information about this very important position:

The third very important volunteer job is that of an outside precinct worker. This worker is the face and voice of our party on election day. The only qualification for this job is a desire to help the party. The precinct worker will stand at our table and greet voters as they walk by and offer a sample ballot and answer any questions. This job may be done in 2 to 3 hours increments or longer time periods. Precinct workers can help answer a potential voter’s questions and provide opinion of our party. They must always remain at least 40 feet from the entrance to the precinct and be careful to be courteous and pleasant to every voter. To do this job please contact your Magisterial District Chair and they will help you find a place to work.
We need people to fill each of these critical positions in every Hanover County precinct! Please choose what would best suit you and go to the links to see what the job entails. Please let your Magisterial District Chair (see below contact list), or Rob Cornelius (HCRC Vice Chair) or me know as soon as possible what you have chosen, and we will be ready to help in any way we can. Thank you in advance for your time and effort!
Together we can and will Make a Difference in the upcoming Elections along with preserving one of our most fundamental rights and consequential actions as a Citizen of our Commonwealth & Country!
Thank You for your Consideration to this Urgent Call to Action!
